Camera + Projector = Projectography Review
What do you get if you cross a projector with a camera? Projectography!
It’s no joke, camera/projectors are here! The rumours are true and all our dreams are now a reality. Nikon have launched the world’s first hybrid compact digital camera with a built in LED projector that can project good quality images on to a wall or any surface in the dark.

The Nikon Coolpix s1000pj is the first to bring these two elements, camera/projector together successfully. No more passing a camera around and squinting at the screen. Images can now be projected onto a surface and produce an 8 x 12 view screen.

The Nikon Coolpix S1000pj camera projector also comes with a 12-megapixel sensor, a 5X optical Nikkor zoom lens (28mm to 240mm), a 2.7-inch-diagonal LCD, and ISO levels of up to 3200 at full resolution, as well as ISO 6400 at a 3-megapixel resolution. The miniature projector, on the front and centre of the camera has a 10-inch to 6.5-foot throw range, standard-definition VGA resolution, and a brightness rating of 10 lumens. This means the projector can produce images on a wall up to 10 feet away. Understandably the further away the projection is there is loss of sharpness and brightness.
The compact digital camera projector will not replace a home cinema but should prove a big hit at parties this Christmas with people projecting images on to friends backs.
The Nikon Coolpix s1000pj has been shipped to shops and is available from September with a RRP of £400. You can read more reviews here and purchase your Nikon digital projector camera for a lot less than the RRP here, home of the cheapest digital cameras on the net.
